Darrell E. Lindberg, Sr., 67, a lifelong resident of Superior, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

Darrell was born on October 6, 1957, in Superior, Wisconsin, to Shirley (LaValley) and Rodney Lindberg. He graduated in 1975 from Superior Senior High School. On December 31, 1984, he married the love of his life, Darlene Packard, in Mesa, Arizona.

Darrell was a hardworking man who held a variety of roles throughout his career. He began working as an iron worker and built the coal dock, then he when on to work for the shipyards in Superior, later he joined the Burlington Railroad Allouez Ore Dock where he was a heavy equipment operator, and eventually found his passion in woodworking, working as a skilled cabinet maker.

In his free time, Darrell enjoyed playing guitar and jamming with his close-knit group of friends, known as Crossroad. He also loved woodworking, snowmobiling, and spending time on Lake Superior, boating with family and friends. Above all, Darrell was a kindhearted soul with a deep devotion to his family—especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandpa, and loyal friend. Family vacations held a special place in his heart, and over the years they explored many places together, including Arizona, Florida, Colorado, and South Dakota.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Lindberg.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Darlene; his son, Darrell Jr.; his beloved grandchildren, Darrell III and Kamron Lindberg; his mother, Shirley Thompson; his siblings, Denise (Pat) McDonald, Dan (Julie) Lindberg, and Darla (Jeff) Larson; along with many nieces, nephews, and close friends who will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Who's Bar, 1114 Tower Ave, Superior, WI.
