David C. Beck, 14, of Superior, died Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, from complications due to drowning.

David was born May 27, 2005 in Duluth, son of David M. and Alicia M. (Herther) Beck.

Some of David's interests included church, computers, video games, animals, history, football, piano, science experiments and collecting knives. He had many positive attributes especially his intellect, politeness, respect for others and his humor. He would drop whatever he was doing to help someone in need.

He is survived by his father, David (Carri Fox) Beck, Superior; mother, Alicia (Mark) Pope, Centralia, WA; sister, Leah L. (Haley Bikman) Beck, Superior; brother, Coltin (Chelsea Keys) Pope, Oregon; paternal grandparents, Robert (Lynette) Beck, Superior; maternal grandfather, James (Annamary) Herther, St. Paul, MN; maternal grandmother, Suzanne (Theresa) Ronning-Allen, Brooklyn Park, MN; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 9 until the 11 a.m. service, Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 ^th Street, Superior.

Pallbearers will be David M. Beck, Mark Pope, Coltin Pope, Leah Beck, Haley Bikman, Robert Wallin, and Daniel Peterson.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
