David Michael Gerding, 72, of Superior died on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, in St. Luke's Hospital's Hospice Unit.

He was born on June 30, 1950, in Superior to Marie (Nault) and Merrill Gerding, Sr.

David was first employed in the Sturgeon Bay Shipyard and then was employed as a maintenance supervisor at Jeno's Foods. He was an active volunteer at the Salvation Army for many years.

David was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jamie Lynn Gerding.

He is survived by his sisters, JoAnn Haas of Superior, and Janet Smit of Paynesville, MN; his brothers, Joe Gerding of Superior, Jim Gerding of Wells, MN and Merrill Gerding, Jr. of Superior; his granddaughter, Samantha Strong of Baraboo, WI; stepbrother, Scott Gerding of Jacksonville, FL; stepsister, Becky Moe of Superior and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
