David Fred Lehman, 85, of Superior, WI died on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth with his family by his side.

David was born May 15, 1938, in Detroit, MI to Edward and Lucille (Wienke) Lehman.

On March 11, 1978, at Itasca Presbyterian Church, David Lehman and Kathryn Pekkala were united in marriage.

For 6 years Dave served with the Michigan Army National Guard.

After moving to this area from Michigan in 1976, Dave worked for Co-op Printing and later as a pressman for the Superior Telegram, retiring after 30 years in the printing business. He enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels for 10 years.

Dave was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Superior, GCIU, and the Nemadji Men's Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and was a Duncan yo-yo champion in 1950-51. Most important to Dave was spending time with family. He loved to travel with Kathy, watch his granddaughters' sporting events, and relax at the family cabin in Lake Nebagamon. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor; there was always laughter with Dave.

David was preceded in death by his parents, and aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy of 45 years; his daughters, Shelly DeGraef, and Kelly (Sam) Eades; his granddaughters, Jillian and Josie; and his brothers, Robert (Dianne) Lehman and Jack (Mary) Lehman, brothers-in-law Ron Pekkala and Rick (Colette) Pekkala and sister-in-law  Marcia Pekkala, and many nieces and nephews.

A very special thank you to the Essentia Hospice team who helped so much with Dave and to the Solvay Hospice House for their care of Dave. And to Ron Underdale and Dick Palm who made sure Dave got to golf 9 holes at Nemadji every Thursday during the last summer he was able to golf.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28th from 11:00 a.m. until the noon service at United Presbyterian Church, 229 N 28th St., Superior with Pastor Brett Foote officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post 435, at the church.

Entombment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery columbarium at a later date.
