David L. Szewcik's Obituary
David L. Szewcik, 66, of Superior, died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Miller-Dwan Medical Center, Duluth.
He was born August 4, 1947 in Superior, son of Anthony and Jean (Wilmot) Szewcik.
David proudly served his country with the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
As a truck driver, Halvor Lines, Incorporated, was one of Dave's employers.
Some of his interests included playing cribbage, board games, watching westerns on TV, reading and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Susan in 2011; 3 sisters and a brother.
David is survived by sons, David Szewcik, Jr., New Lisbon, WI, Larry Szewcik, Black River Falls, WI, Billy (Kandice) Szewcik, Duluth, and Allen (Tiffany) Thompson, South Range; grandchildren, Davey, Jeana, Justis,Daymin,Shadoe, Keegin, Keilah,and Chi-Roe; great-grandson, Marshall; sisters, Judy (Lyle) Peterson, Surprise, AZ, Mary Ely, Superior, and Joy Minnick, Abilene, TX; brothers, William (Sandra) Szewcik, Belvidere, IL, and Larry Paulson, Superior; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation is pending at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior.
Burial will be held at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spooner, WI, at a later date.
