Dawn Michelle Soderlund, 57, of Superior, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at her home in Superior.

She was born in Superior on May 1, 1959, the daughter of Kenneth and Bonnie Young.

Dawn graduated from Northwestern High School in 1977 and went on to pursue her passion of nursing.  She recently completed her R.N. degree at Lake Superior College and worked in the psychiatric unit at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.

She participated in many charity walks and enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers.  She was very passionate for the rights of Veterans and animals and had strong vegan beliefs.

Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her son.

She is preceded by her father, Kenneth Young.

Dawn is survived by her son, Adam (Gabriella Gerster) Soderlund, Duluth; mother, Bonnie Young, Superior; sisters, Laura (David) Wesson, Sugar Land, TX, and Carole (Mike) Moss, Lake Nebagamon; brother, Kenneth Young, Superior; many nieces and nephews, 7 great-nephews and 1 great-niece; and her beloved pets, her shepard Destiny and her cats Oliver, Nadia, Ivan, Margaret.

A celebration of life will be held at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19 ^th and Ogden, on Wednesday, December 28 ^th from 2-4 p.m.
