Deborah K. "Deb" (Girouard) Stalvig, 59, of Superior, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at her residence.
She was born December 19, 1951 in Superior, daughter of James and Gloria (Garrison) Girouard.
Deb's work history started with the former Burke's Bistro, Superior School District bus driver and a registered nurse at the former Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Some of her special interests included spinning wool from sheep, rabbits and goats she raised, embroidery, quilting, painting, stained glass, various crafts, fly fishing and travel. She loved her horses and riding them in the Rocky Mountains and competing in various horse shows. Of all her interests, her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Gloria Hizinski; and brother, David Melander.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheila (Scott) Keup, Superior; son, Roger (Patrice) Stalvig, Superior; grandchildren, Timothy (Ashley) Stalvig, Madison Stalvig and Hallie Stalvig, all of Superior; father, James (Jodi) Girouard, Florida; sister, Michelle (Randy) Balluff, Michigan; brothers, Kevin Melander, Wisconsin, Milo Starcevich, Tennessee, Patrick (Debra Cusick) Girouard, Indiana, Mark (Celine) Girouard, Connecticut, and
Paul (Shari) Girouard, Florida; several nieces and nephews; step-father, Robert Hizinski, Superior; former husband, Roger Stalvig, Superior; and dog, Sidney.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, with Reverend Lee Downey officiating.
Following the service, everyone is invited to a luncheon at The Upper Deck.
