Delores Mae Earhart, 78, Superior, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from complications due to Alzheimer's disease at Golden Living Center in Superior.
Delores was born in Superior on December 12, 1931 the daughter of Esther (Olson) and George Cole.
She had worked for Holzberg's Cleaners, the former St. Mary's Hospital in Superior and was self-employed as a passionate business/domestic care worker.
Delores tended to everyone's needs. She had a kind and gentle heart and welcomed everyone into it. Delores was an excellent cook and baker and loved to entertain. You always knew she was around because of her infectious laugh. Delores made everyone feel special.
She was preceded in death by her husband William; a son, Robert "Bud"; a daughter Mary Jones; granddaughters Cassandra and Mackenzie Jones; and her brothers and sisters, Shirley Beck, George and Robert Cole, Muriel Wickell, JoAnn Parenteau and Joyce Cole.
Delores is survived by her five daughters, Debbie (Tom) Clarke of Superior, Jeanie (Jim) Graskey of South Range, Laurie (Jeff) Effertz of Hayward, Judy (Dan) Klimek of Lakewood Colo. and Jamie "Peggy" (Kirk) Fraser of Novato Calif.; a son Glenn Earhart of Hayward; twenty grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren; and sisters Patricia "Pickles" (Joe) Flowers of Superior, Marlene (Al, Jr.) Rivord of South Range, Carol "Coco" Lambert of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Bonnie Rae O'Leary of Stanford, Conn.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, September 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church with Rev. Mark A. Holmes as officiant. Visitation will begin one hour prior the service.
Delores' family would like to extend their gratitude to her extended family (the staff ) at Golden Living Center. They provided excellent loving care with respect for Delores as a person, along with treating Alzheimers in a homelike setting.
Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave., is assisting the family with arrangements.
