Delores Irene Tomczak-Norlund, 82, of Superior, died peacefully at the home of her daughter, Sunday July 18, 2010.
She was born March 19, 1928 in Superior, daughter of Peter and CeCila (Marshall) Karsky.
Delores worked for several years in the apparel industry such as Roth Brother's, Robert's Apparel and retiring from Oreck's in Duluth.
She loved to be active. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, bowling, dancing, singing karaoke and knitting or crocheting for family and friends. She was known to those who knew her personally to use the term "unreal" in their conversations. Her cute smile, spunky and witty ways will be missed by her family and friends.
Her memberships included Women of the Moose, Superior Douglas County Senior Center and the VFW Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death were her parents; second husband of 14 years, Vern Norlund; first husband of 40 years, Leonard Tomczak; and grandson, David Tomczak.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheri (Larry) Yeazle, Superior; sons, William (Diane) Tomczak, Duluth, and James (Cheryl) Tomczak, Bloomer, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Billie Jo Buran, Trisha Jo Basham, Paul Tomczak, Scott Tomczak, Jeff Tomczak, Angela Tomczak, Tori Tomczak, Robbie Tomczak and Owen Tomczak; great-grandchildren, Shantyll Tribbey, Jordyn Tribbey, Dyllan Tribbey, Kale Basham, Dylan Tomczak, Marcus Tomczak, Jesse Tomczak, Brooklyn Tomczak, Jackson Tomczak, Abby Tomczak, David Tomczak, Emma Tomczak, Dakota Tomczak and Ren Tomczak; great-great-grandchild, Keegyn Tribbey; brother, Lawrence Karsky, Tonawanda, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior. Reverend Father Ronald Olson, pastor of Holy Assumption Catholic Church, will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paul, Scott, Jeff, Robert, and Dylan Tomczak, and Dyllan Tribbey.
Following the luncheon at the Moose Club, the committal service will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
