Obituary

Dennis M. Ahola, 84, of Superior, died Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Twin Ports Health Services in Superior.

Dennis was born in Kimball, WI on December 4, 1941, the son of Mertsi and Lila Ahola.

He graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley, WI with the class of 1959. He served his country enlisting in the US Air Force from 1959 to 1963 and served aboard Air Force One.

He worked as a welder for White Pine Copper Mine for many years. He later worked in the maintenance department for Lake of the Torches Casino in Lac du Flambeau, WI.

While living at Twin Ports Health Services Dennis was known as the Hall Monitor. He enjoyed reading, having coffee, and walking his dogs and his grand-dogs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, his parents, and his daughter, Bonnie Reynolds.

Dennis is survived by his son, Dennis D. (Gwen) Ahola; son-in-law, Sidney Reynolds; grandchildren, Duncan and Zachary Reynolds and Rebecca (Jason) Suckow; great-granddaughter, Sherie Reynolds; and sister, Barb (Bruce) Dianich.

A Celebration of Dennis’ Life will be held later this summer in the Hurley, WI area. Time and location will be announced on Facebook.
