Obituary

Dewey C. Pelfrey, Jr., 64, of Superior, died Monday, February 9, 2015 at his residence.

Dewey was born in Bucks County, PA on Sept. 5, 1950 the son of Dewey and Elizabeth Pelfrey Sr.

He served his country in the Army during Vietnam. He spent 8 ½ years in the Army serving two tours in Vietnam. He was part of the Armored Calvary and very proud of his service.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles with various motorcycle clubs, was known as the park monitor to the local kids and was an active member at Faith United Methodist Church. He volunteered for many church events. He loved spending time with his great-nieces and nephews.

Dewey was preceded in death by his father and brothers, Daniel and David.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Superior; children, Erik (Daniel) Renk-Grant of Minneapolis, Jessie (Darrius) Barber of Superior and Ella (Ashley) Pelfrey of Superior; his mother, Elizabeth of Superior; grandchildren, Jacob, Manny, Shawn and Skyler; brothers and sisters, Bruce (Sharon) Pelfrey, Vicki Mackay, Christine Pelfrey, Terease Pelfrey, Arletta LePage, Shannon Wurst, and Lois Pelfrey; many nieces, nephews and extended family; and his nephew and best friend, Edward Born, Jr.

His visitation will be on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 3:00pm until the 4:00pm memorial service at Faith United Methodist Church. Rev. Joel Certa-Werner will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.

Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave., is assisting the family with arrangements.
