Donald G. Carlson, 86, of Superior, passed away Monday July 20, 2026, in his home.

Donald was born May 11, 1940, in Duluth, MN to Mildred (Haglund) and Carl Carlson.

He was employed as a machinist for Diamond Tool until it closed and then was employed manufacturing windows at Fen-Tech in Superior until his retirement.

Don married Virginia Pryor in Las Vegas April 30, 1985. They made their home in Superior and they enjoyed their back yard garden, feeding the birds and animals in the yard. Don was an avid trout fisherman, a passionate MN Vikings fan, and enjoyed visiting the Casino on occasion. He loved watching Western Shows in his down time. They enjoyed traveling to California many times over the years to visit their daughter and grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, his son, James Quam II and his brother, Roger Carlson.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; his daughters, Denise Carlson, and Debra (Mike) Silva, his grandchildren, Kyle, Shane, Justin, Jenna, and Chenoa, many great grandchildren and his brother, Gary Carlson.
