Donald R. Hackensmith, 61, of Superior, died Sunday, September 1, 2019 at his residence following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born August 20, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky, son of Wesley and Geraldine Hackensmith.

Don married Bobbi Homich in Superior on May 7, 1983.  He was an auto repair mechanic for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald and Frederic 'Max' Hackensmith; and sister, Gail Wasmick.

Don is survived by his wife, Bobbi; son, Dustin Homich of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Samantha Lisdahl, Morgan Lisdahl, Alexandra Corpron, and Madison Homich; great-grandchildren, Raylee and Ethan McDonough; brothers, Richard Hackensmith of Superior, John (Mary) Hackensmith of Superior, and Wesley (Tony) Hackensmith of Iron River; and sister, Vanessa Burndt.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, Duluth, MN.
