Obituary

Donna M. Wicklund, age 91, of Superior, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at New Perspective Senior Living Community in Cloquet.

Donna was born on November 1, 1934, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Joseph and Rena (Balder) Brambrink.

Donna married the love of her life, Leonard Wicklund, in 1958. Together they shared 68 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and serving others.

Donna was a faithful member of Duluth Gospel Tabernacle Church. She loved knitting, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, spending time with her family, and playing cards. Known for her baking and cooking, she was affectionately known as "Cookie Grandma" and "Super Grandma." Donna loved teaching others, whether in the kitchen, through knitting and crocheting, or simply by sharing the wisdom she gained through a life of faith and service. She had a servant's heart and found great joy in helping others.

Donna grew up on a farm in Foley, Minnesota, where she learned the value of hard work. She started her family in St. Cloud and later moved to Superior with her young family. Throughout her life, she held a variety of jobs, including a summer position at Yellowstone National Park after graduation, work at WJON Radio in St. Cloud, serving at the information desk at Essentia, and caregiving for older adults.

Donna and Len spent many summers serving at Sand Hill Lake Bible Camp, where they cooked for campers and often brought along their grandchildren. Together they created a legacy of love, generosity, hard work, and faith that will continue to be felt for generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, JoAnne; her son, Allen; and her nine siblings: Richard, Earl, Alton, Ruben, Alice, Dorothy, Ione, Lorene, and Leona.

Donna is lovingly survived by her husband, Leonard; her son, Leonard (Dawn); her daughters, Janet (Brian) Anderson and Mary (John) Hackensmith; 12 grandchildren: Jenny (Joaquin) Rodriguez, Lenny Hackensmith, Lisa (Matt) Peterson, Heather (Chris) Martinez, Heidi Samberg, Isaac Anderson, Lorena Wicklund, Samantha Wicklund, Cole (Taylor) Wicklund, Reed Wicklund, Abbey Wicklund, and Christa Wicklund; and her great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Jacob, Jonah, Jessica, Jeremiah, Lilly, Daisy, Jaxson, Dahlia, Ivy, Chloe, Luke, Chase, Freyja, Sophia, and great-great grandson Saint.

Donna's faith, generosity, and love for family will be remembered always by those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Duluth Gospel Tabernacle Church, 1515 W. Superior Street, Duluth.

Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior.
