Obituary

Doris L. Kelleher, 87, of Superior, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, January 1, 2024, at Twin Ports Health Services, Superior.

She was born May 3, 1936, in Superior, daughter of Edward and Evelyn (Nordstrom) Osen.

On May 4, 1957, in Superior, Doris L. Osen and Gene J. Kelleher were united in marriage.

Doris worked for the Superior Board of Education, the Superior Savings and Loan, Douglas County courthouse, was a homemaker, and together with Gene raised 4 children.

Concordia Lutheran Church was an integral part of Doris's life. She was a member of the choir and was actively involved in other church functions.

Some of her interests were playing the piano, working with children, flower gardening, tea parties with her grandchildren, and accompanying Gene with his musical groups The Duals and The Church Mice. In addition to having a great sense of humor, Doris was very serious about making people feel welcomed and opening her home to those in need.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; stepson, Dan Stierns, daughter-in-law, Sharon Stierns; and sister, Mae Osen.

Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Kelleher, Steven (Laurie) Kelleher, and Curtis (Lori) Kelleher; daughter, Cathy (Shawn) Gilson; grandchildren, Melinda Stierns, Adam Kelleher, Joseph (Katie) Kelleher, Lynda (Cliff) LaVigne, Annalee Kelleher, Sara (Bryan) Koop, Rebecca (Greg) Trettin, Rachel Kelleher, Hannah (Jonathan) Lindstrom, Kali Kelleher, Ashley (Jayden) Larson, Ryan Kelleher, Seth Gilson, Shayla Gilson, and Kyra Gilson; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Arneson and Betty LaBarge; brother-in-law, David (Phyllis) Kelleher; sister-in-law, Marie Kelleher; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 until the noon service, Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Superior. Reverend Sean Koos and Gary Banker will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Kelleher, Ryan Kelleher, Adam Kelleher, Seth Gilson, Bryan Koop, Greg Trettin, Jayden Larson, and Cliff LaVigne.

The burial will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Superior.
