Dorothy Krogerson, 96, of Superior, passed away peacefully October 24, 2014 at the Care Free Living Center in Babbitt, MN.
Dorothy lived most her life in Superior. After retirement she moved to Hemet, CA and then returned to Superior where she resided with her son, Gary Evenstad.
We were "blessed" as a family to have her for so many years. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She went out of her way to make every one of them feel special and make them feel like they were the only one in her eyes. In fact, she never hesitated to tell any of us that "she loved us to pieces."
Dorothy loved to go to the casinos when she was able to and was quite lucky when she did. She loved to play cards and challenge you to a game of cribbage for money. She enjoyed cooking and baking and passing down the recipes to family members. She was famous for homemade jams and knitting dishcloths.
She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Lynn) Evenstad of Babbitt, MN, Richard (Chris) Krogerson of Neosho, WI, and Marvin (LeeAnn) Krogerson of Superior, WI; her daughters, Jacqueline (Murray) Sullivan of Hartford, WI, Peggy (Dennis) James of Hibbing, MN and Mary Ann Fischer of Harford, WI; a step-daughter, Deanna (Conrad) Armstrong of Texas; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Krogerson; sons, Harold "Bibs" Evenstad and Gary Evenstad; step-sons, Roger and Jerry Krogerson; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Larry Kinney; and all of her brothers and sisters.
Her memorial service will be held on Monday, Nov. 10th at 10a.m. at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Fr. Andrew P. Ricci of Cathedral of Christ the King will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
If desired, memorials in Dorothy's name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Friends of Gary Evenstad who wish to pay their respects during Dorothy's service are welcome to join us.
