Dorothy Mae Savero, 86, of Superior, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Range.
She was born June 28, 1929 in Superior, daughter of Arvid and Mary (Peterson) Carlson.
Dorothy worked many years as a secretary for the Douglas County Department of Human Services and retired from the College of the Desert, in Palm Desert, California, after 10 years of service.
She enjoyed volunteering with the Essentia Health Auxiliary, crocheting, knitting, reading and spending time at the casino and the Superior Moose Lodge # 606.
Preceding her in death were her parents, daughter, Toni Savero; sister, Arvelene Tanner; and brother, Jack Carlson.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances Micken, South Range; son, Rocco (Brenda) Savero, Superior; grandsons, Chris and Eric; granddaughters, Ashley, Danielle and Amber; several step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Jeanne Carlson.
Visitation will be from 2 until the 4 p.m. service Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, with Pastor Will Mowchan officiating.
