Dorthea D. Will, 96, of Superior, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Lighthouse of Superior Assisted Living.
Dorthea was born on Feb. 18, 1915 in Watson, Missouri, the daughter of Iva Mae (Crockett) and Ernest C. G. Dyke. At the age of two she relocated to Callaway, Nebraska with her parents.
She graduated from Arnold, Neb., High School and completed a Normal Training Course.
Dorthea taught school for a short time in a one room country grade school.
She married Clyde C. Will on Feb. 9, 1935. After she was married, she lived and worked on their farms in Nebraska and in Wisconsin where they moved to in 1939.
She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. After her husband died, she joined the Minnesota Happy Wanderers and St. Francis Xavier Travel Clubs and several other clubs.
Dorthea was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde on June 27, 1983; and four brothers, Charles, Ernest Jr., Dwayne and Harold.
She is survived by her two sons, Allen (Mary) of Superior, Gerald (Sandra) of Foxboro; grandchildren, Dave (Brenda) of Antigo, Wis., Dennis (Tania) of Northfield, Minn., Shawn Gallagher of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Dean (Patty) of Superior and Brian (Hollie) of Foxboro; great-grandchildren, Andy, Danny, Lydia, Rachel, Sarah, Ryan, Brandon (Leah), Jennifer and Brandon; and nieces and nephews.
Her memorial service will be held on Mon. Feb. 28, at 11:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Mark Hilmer as officiant. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
