Douglas C. Love, 57, of Hawthorne, died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Hospice, Duluth.

He was born December 13, 1953 in Shell Lake, WI, son of Donald and Lucille (Schipper) Love.

On July 19, 1975 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Superior, Mary G. Patrick and Douglas C. Love were united in marriage.

Doug worked over 35 years for Graymont Incorporated (formerly, Cutler-Magner) as an electrician and millwright.

Some of his interests included hunting, camping and traveling.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and mother-in-law, Shirley A. Nelson.

Survivors include his wife of over 35years, Mary; daughters, Michelle Love (Jimmy) Morris, and Kristin Love, both of Superior; grandchildren, Jordyn Love, Morgan Love, Cheyenne Stone, Jaydon Stone and Ryenne Stone; sisters, Darla (Ron) Salo, Superior, and Linda (Rick) Pooler, Hawthorne; brothers, Donald Love, Spooner, WI, William "Billy" (Carolyn) Love, Superior, Dennis (Mardell) Love, North Carolina, Daniel (Susan) Love, South Range, Richard (Debbie) Love, Minong, Patrick Love, Florida, Thomas Love, Superior, and David (Cindy) Love, Superior; son-in-law, Robert Williams, Superior, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.

Active pallbearers will be Dan Love, Duane Johnson, Andy Sanda, Mark Simonson, Robb Nelson and Tim Rippie. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordyn Love and Jaydon Stone.

Following the committal service, everyone is invited to a celebration of life at the Choo-Choo Bar and Grill, 5002 E. Third Street, Superior.
