Dylan T.
Grubba
November 8, 1995 – April 28, 2026
Dylan Trent Grubba was born to Jessica (Grubba) Taylor on November 8, 1995. He resided with his mother most of his life and was a lifelong Superior, WI resident. Dylan’s life ended tragically on April 28, 2026, at the age of 30, from his 10+ year struggle with schizophrenia/ schizoaffective disorder, an illness he didn’t fully understand nor talk openly about.Statistics show that individuals with this disorder tend to have a reduced life expectancy of 13 to 20 years. The family understands that mental illness affects people in many ways and wants you to know that help is available and to seek support.
Dylan graduated from Superior high school in 2014 and was an excellent student. Dylan held several jobs but will mostly be remembered for his role with the Challenge Center, where he was a direct service provider for six of his best adult years. There he cared for others with mental and cognitive disabilities. He enjoyed helping others and was known for his kindness, patience and empathy.
He was a phenomenal skateboarder and had an intense passion to practice relentlessly until he landed every trick. Another of his passions was music. He loved going to concerts with friends, family & brother or sharing a special song or artist with those he cared about, especially new music & artists that they hadn’t even heard of yet.
Dylan would encourage and cheer on loved ones for the smallest of accomplishments.
Dylan loved sunsets and sunrises and made it a point to see as many as he could, often by driving along Skyline or walking. He intensely despised bugs and felt they would ruin everything good about the outdoors.
He loved skateboarding brands like FTP and enjoyed sipping on Blue Moons & Hennessy.
He checked in on people and very often felt deeply when connections were missed. He was fascinated with numbers and would get lost in his search for hidden meaning in the world around him. He was known for his gaming and goofy YouTube videos. He loved all animals, including the family cats, especially his dear Onyx.
Dylan’s wildly curly hair, brown eyes, and genuine smile and laugh – that never went unnoticed, will be missed by those who knew him. Especially his mother, Jessica (Grubba) Taylor; brother, Lane Grubba-Taylor; Grandparents, Sandy and Brian Sweeney; Father, Michael Adolphson and several half-siblings who he recently connected with; many aunts and uncles; and dozens of cousins.
