Edward L. Cich, Sr., 68, of Superior, Wis., died Wed., Nov. 18, 2009 at his residence.
Edward was born in Willow River, Minn. on May 4, 1941, the son of Agnes (Chmielewski) and Frank Cich.
He was a construction laborer and retired from Lakehead Construction.
Edward enjoyed playing slots, going to garage sales, and spending time in his garage. He was an avid NASCAR and Packer fan. Most important to him was spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Adam, Martin, and James "Chico"; and a sister, Martha.
Edward is survived by Betty LaBarge of Superior; ex-wife Darlene Coffield of Superior; five children, Mona Cich of Eagan Minn., Melissa (Brian Matheson) Cich of Superior, Edward "Eddie" Cich, Jr. of Superior, Jennifer Cich of Superior and Vickie (Charles) Kadrlik of Dennison, Minn.; special granddaughter, Heather Paquette; grandchildren Jessica and Joshua Dircks, and Nicholas and Cody Kadrlik; two great-grandchildren, Tristan and Hannah; two sisters, Rosemary (Chuck) Schoenig of Ga. and Helen Hynes of Tenn.; Betty's children and their families, Wendy (Mark) Schultz and daughter, Haley of Superior and Connie (Dean) Barker and children Scott and Kelli Herman and Kevin Barker all of Wausau, Wis.; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Fri., Nov. 20th from 6-8 p.m. and his funeral service will be on Sat., Nov. 21st at 2:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. & Ogden Ave. Rev. Robert Baranow will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
