Edward L. 'Butch' Krawza, 78, of South Range, died Monday July 6, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Butch was born in Superior on Jan. 12, 1942 the son of Angeline (Giernot) and Frank Krawza. He served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Okinawa.
He married Barbara J. Nelson on July 20, 1968 and would have celebrated 52 years together. He had worked at Murphy Oil for 34 years.
Butch enjoyed 4-wheeling, going to the Casino, and being part of the North Country Cruiser's Car Club. He loved camping at Crystal Lake and spending time with his family and friends.
Butch will be remembered as a quiet, honest, and very hardworking man.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Bernice Krawza, Adeline Sullivan, and Rosemary Wermter.
Butch is survived by his wife, Barb of South Range; two daughters Kim Krawza and Deanna (Byron Tuura) Krawza both of South Range; grandchildren, Mark (Robin) Rose, Mandi (Nick) Kastern, Steven (Lynzy) Kastern, Jessica (James McKay) Freascher, and Nicole Freascher; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Miriana, Karsen, Kameron, Tucker, RJ, Parker, Piper, Jacob, and Mariah; brothers and sisters, Walt (Grace) Krawza of Lakeville, MN, Frank Krawza of Superior, Kathy Wicklund of South Range, and John (Robin) Krawza of Solon Springs; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Butch's Life will be held at the Log Cabin Tavern, 2821 County Rd E, on Saturday July 18, 2020 beginning with Military Honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 at 2:00 p.m.
Honorary Pallbearers will be, Walt, Frank, and John Krawza, Mark Rose, Steven Kastern, Byron Tuura, Larry Rasmussen, and Nick Essen.
A special thanks to Mayo Clinic in Rochester for their compassion and empathy. Also, to a family friend Robyn for her kindness and help at the most difficult time of our lives.
