Eileen Kay Martineau, 58, of Brule, Wisconsin, passed away on July 1, 2026, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on July 19, 1967, in Superior WI, the daughter of Paul and Patricia (Gronski) Martineau.
Eileen dedicated much of her life to serving others as a waitress and bartender. She was known for her hardworking spirit, warm personality, and the genuine connections she made with the many people whose lives she touched over the years.
Outside of work, Eileen found joy in the simple things that made a house feel like a home. She loved cooking meals for those she cared about, keeping a welcoming home, gardening, and preserving the fruits of her labor through canning. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness and countless cherished memories. She also had a special place in her heart for the neighborhood children, loving and caring for them as if they were her own. Above all, she was passionate about making people feel known, whether that was through an impromptu call or by giving home grown, homemade food. Everything she did was with purpose, the sole intent of providing comfort & happiness to those who surrounded her.
Eileen will be remembered for her caring heart, strong work ethic, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
May she rest in peace.
Survivors include her partner, Jeff Maki; mother, Patricia Martineau of Superior; children, Elizabeth (Zach) VanTil of Superior, Ryan (Alexandra) McDermott of Rice Lake, WI, Amy (TJ Bayliss) Martineau of Iron River, WI, Josie Maki of Brule, WI and Chelsey Maki of Brule, WI; bonus daughter, Shauna Leonard; grandchildren, Grace, Paityn, Avacyn, Kaiya, Lexi, Layla, Waylen, Adrian, Ayden, Emmett and Natalie; siblings, Rita (Jim) Stariha, Susan Ksicinski, Mary Jo (Rob) Fitzgerald, Pam Olaf and Barbara Martineau all of Superior; special sister, Cindy Gronski; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul; sister, Paulette Grymala; and nephew, Seth Stariha.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the Noon Memorial Service on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th Street. Inurnment following at St. Francis Cemetery. Eileen’s Celebration of Life will continue immediately following the cemetery at the Log Cabin, 2821 County Rd E, South Range.
