Elaine Ann Lee passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of her birthday March 6, 2020, at the age of 93.  She had fallen was living in New Perspectives Memory Care having suffered from dementia, but recently moved and was living at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on Mar 6, 1927 in Superior, Wisconsin to Myrtle (Halberg) Lee and Harvey Lee.

In third grade due to an episode with Scarlett Fever she missed a year of school and was minimally disabled, but still managed to graduate from East High School. She gained employment at the Superior Telegram newspaper as a proofreader and worked there until retirement.

Her sister Lois would take her on trips in their retirement.  She was very involved in her Bayside Baptist Church and stayed active in her living community.  For most of her life she lived very simply, but she had a clear mind until the last couple years, was independent, emotionally resilient, happy, and had a caring heart.  May she rest in peace she is loved and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Hans Jorgensen Olsen Lee (Norway) and Elizabeth Olsen Lee (Minnesota); maternal grandparents, Carl Ludvig Halberg (Minnesota) and Annie (Carlsen) Halberg (Sweden); parents; and two siblings Lois Mae (Lee) Nordin and Bruce Paul Lee.

She is survived by her cousin, Kenny Dalager; nieces, Carla Lee-Eichenwald (Scott) and Erika Lee; and nephew, Randy Lee (Barb).

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior. She will be buried next to her parents.  Those who knew her are welcome to attend. Pastor Tom Bush will officiate.
