Elizabeth A. "Betty" Peters, 81, of Superior, died Saturday, February 4, 2017, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born March 26, 1935 in Superior, daughter of Oscar and Anna (Koenig) Anderson.

Betty worked many years as a manager at Les Bird's and raised seven children.

She loved reading, sports, cheering for her Green Bay Packers and golfing in various leagues. However, her greatest love was her family and spending time with them. So many will remember her joy, quick smile and love of laughter.

Holy Assumption Catholic Church was her lifelong parish, of which she was a very active member.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, William in 2010; sisters, Marie Johnson and Kathleen Jacobson; and brothers, Charles, Jack, Robert and Francis Anderson.

Survivors include her sons, James (Marian) Knutson, Charleston, IL, Michael (Doreen) Knutson, Dickinson, ND, Robert (Kristen) Knutson, Centennial, CO, and Stephen Knutson, Duluth; daughters, Jeanne Potthier, Rosemount, MN, Laurie VanHousen, Burnsville, MN, and Mary (Michael) Carlson, Superior; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, George (Carol) Anderson, Wrenshall, MN, James Anderson, Superior, and Richard Anderson, Wentworth, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. Thursday, February 9 ^th , at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 ^th Street, Superior. A memorial mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, 5601 Tower Avenue, Superior.  Reverend Father Ronald Olson will be the celebrant.

Immediately following the mass, the family invites everyone downstairs to the parish hall for a luncheon.

Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Superior, at a later date.
