She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sharon Louise on Nov. 3, 1971; parents, Norman and Marie; a sister- in-law, Judith Ann Kulas; and her father and mother- in law, Theodore L. and Pearl I. Nelson.

Betty was a very vivacious person with a sparkling personality. She especially loved children, infant children in particular. She was a foster parent for 13 infants, some of which she remained in contact. She had a very special, huge amount of love for her family and friends. For those whom she met shopping or anywhere else, after a lengthy conversation, they would be instant friends.
She worked for a time at various jobs, the Douglas County Social Service Dept.; as an aide at the former Washington School; as secretary for Hammond Avenue Presbyterian Church; and as chief election inspector for the Town of Superior election board. Betty volunteered many hours at the Four Corners Elementary School doing whatever was needed, such as assisting on the children's picture day, eye checking, and being a "Mother Hen" to the students.
Betty will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Active pallbearers will be grandchildren and a family friend, Scott Keup. Honorary pallbearers will also be grandchildren.
