Elizabeth 'Casey' R. Peterson, 63, lifelong resident of Superior, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday February 4, 2023, surrounded by her family at Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.

Elizabeth was born on August 3, 1959, the daughter of Michael and Mary Alice (Byrnes) Culhane. She graduated from Superior Senior High School with the class of 1977 and later attended WITC and graduated in 1990.

She married John Peterson on November 1, 1980 and they celebrated 42 years of marriage.

She worked for 25 years at the Superior Catholic Diocese and over 6 years at the Richard I. Bong Museum.

Casey enjoyed golf, bowling, boating, and socializing with friends. She also enjoyed Hallmark movies, reading, and vacationing at Pine Point Resort in Iron River where she met John.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Daniel Culhane.

Casey is survived by her husband, John; children, Ann (Lyle Nygren) Hattenberger, John 'JP' (Sarah) Peterson, Jr., and Matt (Amanda) Peterson all of Superior; grandchildren, Hazel and Ava Hattenberger, Halle and Liam Peterson and Lily and Danny Peterson; siblings, Dennis (Christala) Culhane, Colleen (Shane) Hickok, Patrick (Karla) Culhane and Kelly (Scott) Killian; and sister-in-law, Emily Ringlien.

A Celebration of Casey's Life will be held on Friday February 10 ^th from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Aces on 29 ^th , 2827 Oakes Avenue, Superior.
