Elmer Arthur Carl Krause, 80, of Superior, died Monday, January 31, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospice in Duluth.
Elmer was born in Great Bend, North Dakota on Feb. 10, 1930 the son of Ida (Hoefs) and John Krause.
He married the former Betty David and they celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Elmer was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved trap shooting with his wife, sons and grandsons. He enjoyed traveling with his family and hunting trips with his sons and grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Tom and an infant grandchild; brother, Walter Krause; sister, Alva Bohn and an infant sister, Erma; and his dog and faithful companion, Sandy.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Betty; five sons and their spouses, Ron and Lynn, Kim and Barb, Kirk and DeeDee, Rick and Susie all of Superior and Alan and Susan of Hermantown; grandchildren, Kris (Steve) Androsky, Merideth Shykes, Cody (Callie) Krause, Becca (Paul Narverud) Krause, Travis, Robert, Catie, Peter and Doug Krause; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thurs. Feb. 3rd, from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Funeral Service will be on Fri. Feb. 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. David Schoessow. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren.
