Elsie J. Mattila, 94, of Superior, died Sunday, February 15, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospice, Duluth.
She was born August 2, 1920 in White River, South Dakota, daughter of George and Agatha (Haacker) Marvin.
Elsie worked as a floral designer for McKee's and Wolff's floral shops in Superior.
Some of her interests included collecting and refinishing various antiques, growing indoor and outdoor flowers, sewing and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Odiel C. Rosseau; second husband, Arthur E. Mattila; son, Arthur E. Mattila, Jr.; and 9 siblings.
Survivors include her son, Marvin (Linda) Rosseau, Jackson, Tennessee; daughter, Arlene (Ken) Tapper, Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren, Shelby, Marv Jr., Shantele (Jay), Kari, Casey (Jeff) and Elise (David); 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior.
The committal prayers will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
