Elvera E Renman, 80 of South Range passed away at her home on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Elvera was born to Gilbert and Rachel (Bergsten) Nelson on April 27, 1939 in Superior, WI. She married William (Bill) Renman at the Mission Covenant Church in Poplar on Nov 10, 1962. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage before his passing on April 2nd, 2008.

Elvera attended Poplar Grade School and Northwestern High School where she graduated in 1957 as Valedictorian of her class. She then went on to Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, MN graduating in 1960. She retired 42 years after starting her nursing career at St Luke's Hospital, Duluth. Most of that time was spent as a surgical nurse. She also worked at Pavilion Surgery Center in Duluth after retiring from St Luke's.

Bill and Elvera were Dairy farmers in South Range. She often helped out on the farm, but most of the time, just keeping all the men fed. After Bill was disabled, she would milk the cows before going in to her nursing job.

Elvera was the ultimate care giver, not just for Bill, but also for her sister-in-law Barbara Renman, many other family members and friends. Always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

Elvera was a lifetime member of the Mission Covenant Church in Poplar where she was a member of the Women's Bible Study and served on the financial committee and the 125th anniversary committee. She spent many hours in the church kitchen serving food and washing coffee pots.

She was a member of Superior Christian Women and Sew What Sewing Guild where she served as treasurer. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Tri-County Mutual Town Insurance Company.

Elvera learned to sew at a young age, was a member of the Poplar 4-H Club and was a junior leader for the sewing project. She even had the opportunity to take her garments to the State Fair in Madison. Sewing was her passion for the rest of her life. Always willing to hem a skirt or repair a zipper. She made many garments for her husband, son and many family members and friends. She was sewing COVID-19 Masks the day she died.

Elvera is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; sister-in-law, Barbara Renman; and brother-in-law, Keith Janke.

She will be sadly missed by her son, Paul (Wendy) Renman, South Range; stepgranddaughter, Bridgett; step-great grandchildren, Ryan, Kyler and Kinsley; brother, Virgil (Marilyn) Nelson, Poplar; sister, Grace (Ron) Hoya, Tucson, AZ; brother-in-law Fred (Nancy) Renman, South Range; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m., with a service at 3:00 p.m., on Friday, September 11, 2020, at Mission Covenant Church, 5161 S County Rd P, Poplar.  Rev. Darrell Nelson officiating.  Burial at Poplar Cemetery.
