Emma L. Mattson, 94, of Superior, WI, died peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Solvay Hospice House, Duluth, MN, surrounded by her family.

Emma was born on April 29, 1925 in Maple, WI, daughter of William and Hilja Olson.  She attended Maple Corner School, while also working on the family owned farm in Maple, WI.

In addition to raising her 7 children, Emma was employed at the former Village Inn, Superior, WI, and employed by the School District of Superior Food Service Department.  She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Emma was an avid exerciser and loved watching her Packers and Brewers.  She loved to bake, cook and travel.  Her greatest interest was caring for her family and spending time with them at Ruth Lake, Iron River, WI.

Preceding her in death was her first husband, George Aro and her second husband, Arnold "Ray" Mattson; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors includer her children, Julie Conner of Neosho, MO; Donald (Betty) Aro, Superior, WI; Carol (Dennis) Sears, Iron River, WI; Daniel (Lori) Mattson, Superior, WI; Tammy (John) O'Brien, Iron River, WI; Lori (Skip) VanDamme, Superior, WI; Michael (Tracy) Mattson, Cloquet, MN.  Grandchildren Heidi Ramage, Russell & Matt Aro, Tawn Smith, Ryan & Casey Sears, Niklaas & Taavi Mattson, Nolan & Trent VanDamme, Sean O'Brien, Brenna Mattson and Ryan Fredrickson; and great-grandchildren Austin & Savannah Sears, Sidney Smith and Hannah Ramage.

A private family interment and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
