Obituary

Ernest A. "Ernie" Nicholas, 62, died Monday, August 22, 2011 surrounded by his family at his residence.

Ernie was born in Duluth, Minn. on May 16, 1949 the son of Cora (Cyr) and Robert Nicholas.

He served his country during the Vietnam War in the Navy.

Ernie owned and operated E.N. Electric. He enjoyed fishing, making model ships, and was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan. Most important to him was spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents

Ernie is survived by his wife of 24 years, Roberta; two daughters, Debra Limberios of Superior and Shannon (Mike) Korn of Hawthorne; a son, Glenn Vion of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren, Miranda, Emma and Sophie Korn, Apostolos, Angelos and Eleni Limberios; four brothers, Richard (Catherine) of Blaine, Minn., Ronald (Jill) of Laverne, Calif., Norb (Pam) of California and Dan (Shelba) of Seattle, Wash.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Fri. Aug. 26th from 5-8 p.m. in the Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Visitation will continue on Sat. Aug 27th from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, Pastor Mark A. Holmes will officiate. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hawthorne with military honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
