Ernest LeRoy Hartshorn, 85 of Superior, WI joined loved ones in heaven on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN with his son Joseph beside him, holding his hand.

Ernie was born at home on Conners Point in Superior on February 27, 1937, to Camiel and Dorothy Hartshorn.

He was a shy and quit man, family was most important to him, from family reunions and holiday parties and many vacation trips he took with his in-laws. Ernie was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, especially the Green Bay Packers. He was a Superior North Ender all of his life, receding back on Conners Point at his passing.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters and brother in-laws, Jean (Buckey) Koukol, Mildred "Pee Wee" (Larry) Melloh and numerous relatives and friends.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Hartshorn; best friend and former wife, Sandra Hartshorn; brothers, Carl Hartshorn and Bud (Marge) Hartshorn; his sister, Marlene (Lee) Cooper; in-laws, Peter (Denice) Latscher, Nancy (Mike) Doolittle, Robert (Debbie) Latscher, Tom (Tracy) Latscher, Kathy (Pat) Moore, and Becky Little; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 12:00 pm until the 1:00 pm Funeral Service in Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th Street Superior with Gary Banker as the celebrant.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
