Ethel L. Lancour, 93, of Poplar, died Saturday July 18, 2026, at Essentia- St Mary’s Hospital in Superior.

Ethel was born in Maple on December 9, 1932, the daughter of Oscar and Aili (Soyring) Tullberg. She graduated from Northwestern High School.

Ethel married Donald Lancour on February 8, 1952, and they celebrated 49 years of marriage until his death in March 2001.

She worked as a cook in the Maple School District for many years. Ethel was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed swimming, picnics and fishing with family on the beaches of Lake Superior. She also enjoyed golfing, but most important to her was spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; son, Scott Lancour; daughter, Linda Moore; brothers, Donald, Hillard, and Archie Tullberg; and sisters, Mildred Winkler and Alice Rowe.

Ethel is survived by her daughters, Dona (Mel) Pearson of Rice Lake, Denise (Jack) Narow of Forest Lake, and Deanna (Patrick DeGraef) Lancour of Barnes; grandchildren, Ryan (Chasity) Pearson, Lisa (Andrew) Ruediger, Brandi Narow, Donny Narow, Scott Lancour, Jennifer Lancour, Megan (Shane Gulan) Landgreen, and Bobbie (Quincy) Connor; great grandchildren, Ashley, Aiden, Evan, Owen, William, Charolette, Bailey, Jonathan, Zoie, and Serenity; former son-in-law Jerry Colby.

Visitation will be held on Saturday August 22nd from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Peace Lutheran Church, 9523 US Hwy 2, Poplar, WI 54864.
