Eugene 'Gene' R. Harvey, 80, of Superior, died Wednesday August 30, 2023, at Aspen Health and Rehab.

Gene was born in Superior on June 4, 1943, the son of William and Ruby (Ernst) Harvey.

He worked as a construction laborer for many years.

Gene was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He loved his Ford trucks and enjoyed going for rides to WI Point, to see the fall leaves, and to have a picnic. He also enjoyed picking cans to help save the environment. He was a people person and was always helping others.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Sonny Harvey, Tom Harvey, Sr., Alice (Wayne) Johnson and Ruth (Clarence) Emmons.

Gene is survived by his children, Cindy (Gordon) Solo of Minneapolis, Charlene (David) Eastman of Superior, and Russell (Lisa) Harvey of Foxboro; grandchildren, Melissa (Zach) Schnell of Chetek, WI, Michelle (Dillon) Sommerfeld of Crookston, MN, Maddy (Kai Hutchins) Solo of Minneapolis, Ashley Kinn and Chris (Cariann) Kinn; brother, Don (Bonnie) Harvey of Lake Nebagamon and sister, Linda Knapp of Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A private family burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.

Gene was a kind and gentle soul. Rest in peace, we will miss you.
