Evelyn D. Compton's Obituary
Evelyn D. Compton, 91, of Superior passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Villa Marina Health and Rehab in Superior.
Evelyn was born in Delano, MN on Dec. 26, 1924 and raised in Hayward, WI.
She married Lester H. Compton on June 15, 1942.
Evelyn was a homemaker and was a former member of Hammond Ave. Presbyterian Church. She also served 3 terms as president of the former Navy Mothers Club 471.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida Thomas; her husband, Lester Sr.; son, Lester H. Compton Jr.; brothers, Clyde Frisk and Daryle Thomas; sisters, Rosemary Vanguilder, Anne Baillif, Ruth Hart, Doris Stone and Grace Anderson.
Evelyn is survived by her son, David L. Compton; grandchildren, Sue and Mike Compton; daughter-in-law, Carol Compton; sister-in-law, Jean Thomas; many nieces and nephews; and the love of her life, her dog, Ginger.
Following Evelyn's wishes, private family services will take place. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Harmony House, Daria Penney, Amy Bonfigt and Villa Marina.
