Obituary

Evelyn I. "Dudy" "Evie" Lund-Bergquist, 90, a lifelong Superior, Wis. resident died Fri., Oct. 4, 2013 while under hospice care at her son's home in Clearwater, Fla.

She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, making maple syrup and spending summers at Whitefish Lake and Lake Nebagamon.

Ev was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church and an active member of their Alter Guild and Quilting Group. She was a summer member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Nebagamon. She also was a dedicated volunteer at the former Superior Memorial Hospital having given over 2500 hours of service.

She and her first husband, John "Jack" Lund co-owned Lund's Sporting Goods on Belknap Street for many years. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1963. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Hilma and Charles Kottman; a son, Terry Lund on Jan. 20, 2005; and her second husband, Carl "Bill" Bergquist on Feb. 25, 2011.

Evie is remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Steven and Kathy Lund of Clearwater, Fla.; five grandchildren, Andrea and husband, Robert, Eric and wife, Chelsea, Amanda and husband T. J., and T. J. and Miles Lund; a sister, Dorothy Laurila; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; and the Carl "Bill" Bergquist family.

Visitation will be in Downs Funeral Home on Wed., Oct. 16th from 5-7 p.m. and will resume at 10:00 a.m. on Thurs., Oct. 17th in Zion Lutheran Church and continue until her 11:00 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Darrell Kyle of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lake Nebagamon officiating. The committal prayers will be held at Graceland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ken Thimm, Bill Stuart, Larry Koski, Dave Robertsen, Jon Amundsen and Scott Kvam.

If desired, memorials in Ev's name may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Superior, Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Nebagamon or the Boy Scouts West Council, 11046 Johnson Blvd., Seminole, Fla. 33772.
