Florence E. Dzikonski, 84, went to rest peacefully in Jesus' arms on Friday, January 22, 2016. She was born in Superior on June 11, 1931 and resided in Lake Nebagamon for most of her life.
Florence was formerly employed by Middle River Health Care Facility, Village Clerk of Lake Nebagamon, Maple School District, and the Evening Telegram. She was also a member of the Lady Eagles in Superior, Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Nebagamon, the Quilting Guild at Trinity and attended Concordia Lutheran Church. Florence enjoyed singing, baton twirling, painting, sewing, and mostly spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Florence Steffenson, her husband Ray, her former husband Thomas H. Johnson, sons-in-law Thomas Mittelstaedt and Bruce Bourgeois, granddaughter Shannon Bourgeois, sisters Loraine Klismet and Jean Allen.
She will be deeply and sadly missed by her children Thomas A. Johnson (Sally), Sue Bourgeois, Jane Mittelstaedt, Richard Johnson (Dinah), and Marilyn Johnson (Joe Martin). Her grandchildren Jared Johnson, Jennifer Kloss, Sarah Graham, Shauna Niedziela, Matt Mittelstaedt, Alix Pender, Rian Johnson, Tailor Johnson and Jasmine Johnson. Step-grandson Michael Gotelaere. Great-grandchildren Siarra Kloss, William Graham, Skye and Beaux Pender, Zariah Johnson and Aylinn Turner. Several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th St., Superior, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Visitation will resume at 10 until the 11 a.m. service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Nebagamon on Thursday, January 28, 2016. Pastor Darrell Kyle will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be Florence's grandchildren.
Interment will be at Lake Nebagamon Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the church.
