Florence M. Johnson, 87, formerly of Superior, Wis. and currently a resident of Christian Community Home in Hudson, Wis. died July 6th in the Hudson Hospital.

Born January 29, 1923 in St. Paul, Minn., she was a longtime Superior resident, until recently moving in December of 2009 to Hudson, Wis.

Surviving are her sons, David C. (Margaret) of Huntersville, N. C., Daniel E. (Sharon) of Woodbury, Minn., Timothy J. (Michele) of Gordon, Wis., and Michael P. (Lynda) of Superior; a daughter, Cathy (Ron) Fulton of Hudson; seven grandchildren; fourteen great- grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Johnston of Balsam Lake, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Edward Johnson on August 5, 2003; her parents, Mae (Pennig) and James Johnston; and also her brothers and sisters.

Florence was known for her talents in knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed attending many activities at CCH, especially the music and weekly readings, and visiting the local grade schools.

Her memorial service will be 10:30 a. m. Saturday in Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden Ave. & 19th St. in Superior with Pastor Laurence Goebel officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Private family committal prayers will take place at the Veterans Memorial Park in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at the Christian Community Home and the Hudson Hospital, and also to Pastor Steve, Pastor Howard and Pastor Tim Booth.

Florence will be sadly missed.
