Florence Johnstad, 91, a longtime resident of South Range, WI passed away March 22, 2015 at Essentia Hospice surrounded by her family. She recently resided at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Florence was born Feb. 22, 1924 in Fox Island WA, the daughter of Gust and Hulda Lundquist.
On November 14th 1942 she and John Johnstad were united in marriage in Carlton, MN.
Her greatest joy was her family, being a wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her sweet nature and wonderful cooking.
She is survived by three daughters, Dianna (Mickey) Kinnee, Sandy (Jerry) Will and Carolyn (Randy) Levine; five sons, John Jr. (Jan), Donald (Sharen), Tom (Darlene), Wayne (Sharon) Scott (Sharon); a brother, Clifford Lundquist of St Paul, MN; a sister Evelyn Brunell of Superior WI; 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, parents, a sister, three brothers and two daughters, Janet Johnstad and Nancy (Frank) Stokes.
Florence's family would like to thank all of the wonderful nurses and Dr. Fox at Essentia Hospice who gave her such loving care in her hour of need.
Visitation will be on Thurs. Mar. 26 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church. Pastor Jenny Armstrong will officiate. Private family burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her ten grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her six granddaughters.
Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th and Ogden is assisting the family with arrangements.
