Florence Shapiro, 99, of Superior, Wis. died Mon., January 31, 2011 in St. Francis Health & Rehab. Center.

She was born June 15, 1911 in Superior to Hannah (Berzon) and Harry Titch.

Florence was a graduate of Superior State Teachers College and had been employed as a teacher by the school district of Superior.

She is survived by her son, Harvey Dean (Paula M.) Shapiro, two grandchildren, Andrew Shapiro and his wife Abigail Weinberg and Samantha and husband Matthew and a great-grandson, Jack Mariner Shapiro all of New York, N. Y.; and a sister, Eudice Gallop of Minnetonka, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Myer Shapiro and three sisters.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden Ave. & 19th St., with Rabbi David Steinberg officiating.

Interment will be in Superior Hebrew Cemetery.
