Frances Margaret Westlund, 95, of Superior, Wis. died Wed., July 30, 2014 in the Villa-Marina Health & Rehab. Center.

She was born Aug. 22, 1918 in Ashland, Wis. to Pearl (Windhauser) and Frank Moder.

She had been employed as a L. P. N. at Superior Memorial Hospital.

Frances was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and also many garden clubs. She had been an Elder with the Bad River Band of Chippewa and was she was a former Eastern Star member.

Surviving her are her children, Judy (Lou) Reinstra of Bayfield, Wis. and Julie (Christopher) Owen of Superior; a son-in-law, Lee Berns of Sparks, Nev.; thirteen grandchildren, William and Robert Hayes, Kathleen Reinstra Enders, Mark and Brian Reinstra, Jeff, Mark, Shannon & Kim Berns, Kellianne Dunlap Owen, David and Christopher Owen, and Jennifer Nikstad Owen; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Vora Lindberg of Superior, Merwin Moder of Duluth, Minn., and Patricia (Edward) Northrup of Avon Park, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Sonia Moder of Barnum, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Westlund; children, Janice Hayes Berns and Jack Wilfred Hayes; a sister, Nellie Gimmill; and two brothers, Leslie and Bernard Moder.

Her memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. in the United Presbyterian Church on Mon., Aug. 4th with Rev. Joel Huenemann officiating. Private family committal prayers will be held at Sunrise Memorial Park, Duluth at a later date.

If desired, memorials in Frances' name may be made to the United Presbyterian Church.
