Obituary

Gail M. Bukowski, 92, of Superior, died Saturday June 6, 2026, at New Perspective Senior Living, surrounded by her family.

Gail was born in Superior on February 16, 1934, the daughter of Roy and Louise (Girard) Newlander. She graduated from Superior Central High School with the class of 1952.

She married George Bukowski on November 28, 1953, and they celebrated 72 years of marriage.

Gail worked as Jeno Paulucci’s private secretary for 38 years. She enjoyed traveling with George and wintering in Florida. She also enjoyed taking trips to the Casino and playing blackjack. Most important to her was her family and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and dog-sitting, Crosby.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, James and Thomas Newlander.

Gail is survived by her husband, George; son, Robert (Brenda) Bukowski of Superior; grandsons, Brandon (Emily) Bukowski of Mankato and Brett (Molly) Bukowski of Rochester, MN; great grandchildren, Barrett and Elliott; sisters-in-law, Jean Newlander, Patricia (Dale) Carlson, and Barbara Ward; and her nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday June 13th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St., with Gary Banker as officiant. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

If desired memorials may be made in Gail’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
