Gary W. Bauer's Obituary
Gary W. Bauer, 68, of Amnicon Township, died Thurs. Aug. 13, 2009 at his residence.
Gary was born in Eden Valley, Minn. on Jan. 14, 1941 the son of Cecilia (Strack) Anderson and Theodore Bauer.
After high school, Gary served his country in the Army. He was a switchman for the Chicago Northern railroad.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, especially on picnics or at a BBQ.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; step-father Gustav A. Anderson; and a brother John Bauer.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gertrude; daughter, Penny (Eugene Golly) Bauer of Amnicon Twsp.; son, Gary J. (Nicole) Bauer of Amnicon Twsp.; grandchildren, Cory and Deminica Bauer of Superior and Brandi and Amanda Bauer of Amnicon Twsp.; two great-grandsons, Dakota and Vincent Bauer; brothers and sisters, Mary Lou, Rosie, Helen, Larry, David, Lorraine and Linda; and many nieces and nephews.
His memorial service will be held on Mon. Aug. 17, at 1:00 pm. at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Visitation will be one hour prior. Rev. Robert Baranow will officiate. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
