Gary E. Dunbar, 68, of Brule, died unexpectantly Sunday, June 7, 2020, at his residence.

He was born March 11, 1952 in Milwaukee, son of Archie and Agnes (Ballering) Dunbar and grew up in West Allis, WI.

Gary was very proud of his service to his country in the U.S. Army National Guard, 135th Medical Clearing Company in Milwaukee from 1970 to 1976.

In his younger years, Gary was married (Sue Thibedeau) and had 3 children. Family was an important factor in his life, which he enjoyed even more after his retirement when he could spend more time with his grandchildren that he adored.

He had a lengthy career in trucking spanning over more than 12 million miles. His routes took him too all the lower 48 states, Canada, and Mexico. His children loved to travel with him during the cross-country trips, especially in their early years.

Gary enjoyed many outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, watching Racing, and motorcycling.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Archie and Agnes Dunbar.

Survivors include his daughter, Jessica (Paul) George, Princeton, MN; sons, Charles (Ariel) Dunbar, Iron River, WI and Derek Dunbar, Iron River, WI; grandchildren, Aubrey, Allie, Violet and Avery Dunbar; siblings, Austin (Mary) Dunbar, Watersmeet, MI, Vicki (Dennis) Micke, Appleton, WI, Dale (Patti) Dunbar, Oshkosh, WI, Jack (Wendy) Dunbar, Palmyra, WI, and Nancy (Jeffrey) Knecht, Menomonie, WI; mother of his children, Susan Thibedeau, Iron River, WI; and several nieces, nephews and friends

. A celebration of Gary's life will be held Saturday, July 11th from 12pm - 4pm at the Community Center in Iron River, WI.
