Genevieve A. Swanson, 92, of Superior, died Saturday, April 15, 2017, in Superior.

She was born on March 26, 1925, the daughter of Walter and Alexandra Lazarski.

Genevieve lived a vibrant, active life. She loved to spend time taking walks or being outside in her garden; fresh vegetables were her favorite part of every meal. When she wasn't outside, she enjoyed keeping her hands busy by crocheting and quilting. Her work was always perfect, and she enjoyed teaching younger family members her technique. She had an adventurous spirit.

From traveling with her husband to going on picnics with her family, she would never turn down the chance to have a good time. Gen's Catholic faith was important to her, and she was always generous with her prayers. Her fun, loving personality lit up the room. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by parents; husband, Alvin; son, Nick; and 6 siblings.

Genevieve is survived by her children, Margie (Jim) Bleskan, Sandra (Norman) Lier, Jeffrey (Michael Thiele) Swanson, and Angela (Ernie) Harker; grandchildren, Jana (Steve) Olson, Amber (Zac) Seffrood, and Paige Harker; great-grandchildren, Bennett and Ross Olson, and Anya and Silas Seffrood; and many nieces and nephews.

Her visitation will be on Friday, April 21, from 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant.  Burial will be in Blueberry Cemetery in Maple, WI.
