George Dewey Brown Jr., 93, of Superior died peacefully on September 20, 2026, at Twin Ports Health Services.

George was born on October 17, 1932, to George and Esther (Anderson) Brown in Superior.

He married Lola Sarver from Chillicothe IL on September 20, 1958, in Cloquet MN, and enjoyed 68 years of marriage.

George was a veteran of the U.S Army and served in Korea as a locomotive engineer. He was a lifelong member of the VFW.

George enjoyed many sports, especially basketball and baseball; he also enjoyed coaching youth basketball. George was a long time Vikings fan and enjoyed the banter with Green Bay fans. George loved the family pets, and he was often caught feeding them under the table or sharing a dish of ice cream with them. George will be remembered for his kindness, great sense of humor, and love for his family.

During the summer months you would find George and Lola spending time with family and friends at their Sleepy Eye Lake cabin in Minong WI.

George attended Bradley University in Peoria IL for his career in Watchmaking. He worked at Nummi Jewelers in Superior for 21 years, then at Security Jewelers in Duluth for 20 years before retiring.

He is survived by his wife, Lola; daughter, Kimberly Cusick of Duluth; son, Jim (Julie) Brown of Superior; grandchildren Shanna (Andy) Taylor, Daniel Lind, Jacob Brown, and Kamryn Brown; and 5 great-grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.

He is preceded by his parents, George and Esther Brown; and sisters, Ruth Springer and Marge Grandahl. Also by his son in law Mike Cusick.

There will be a private family service held for George.
