George C. Girga's Obituary
George C. Girga, 66, of Superior died Monday, August 12, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.
George was born in Chicago, Illinois on Feb. 17, 1947 the son of Steven and Veronica Girga.
He worked in parts at Johnson Auto Electric and Northern Engine, both in Duluth for many years as a salesman. He loved fishing, camping and playing poker. Above all, he adored his family and friends and will greatly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven; and a brother, James.
George is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kathy; sons, Andy (Kara Proctor) Girga of Superior and Brian (Brooke Scharte) Girga of Superior; a granddaughter, Marlee Proctor; and a sister, Sandra Richter of Rice Lake; and his dog Rowdy.
A celebration of George's life will be held on Sat. Aug. 17 from 1pm – 5pm at the Avalon Bar on County Hwy F in Benoit, Wis.
Downs Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
