George Kresch, 86, of Minong, WI died Saturday, December 16, 2023, at VitaCare Assisted Living in Hayward, WI. He was known as a fun-loving, easy-going family man among all his friends and family.
George was born in Chicago, IL on Feb. 13, 1937, the son of John and Louise Kresch. He served in the U.S. Army from February 1960 until March 1962. While stationed in Chitose, Japan, he met his wife, Kazuko Maeda. They were married on Oct. 18,1961 at the American Consulate in Sapporo, Japan. For most of his career, George enjoyed owning and operating a resort/restaurant in Wascott, WI and truck driving for Wilson Lines in Newport, MN. Prior to buying the family restaurant known as Kresch's Place, he spent many months perfecting a special pizza recipe. His ultimate love was farming and he would often visit Bar H Implements, in Stone Lake, WI for farm equipment and attend auctions with his close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and John and by his wife, Kazuko.
George is survived by his son, Michael Kresch of Eagan, MN; daughters, Patricia Kresch of Brentwood, TN and Joanne Kresch of Minong, WI; granddaughter, Sarah Nicole Kresch of Eagan, MN and brother, Richard (Wanda) Kresch of Sequin, TX.
