Georgia Faye Flood, 72, of Superior, died Sunday, May 8, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospice, Duluth.
She was born October 6, 1938 in Newton, North Carolina, daughter of Roy and Molly (Spencer) Hedrick.
On March 20, 1964 in Wrenshall, Minnesota, Georgia Hedrick and Erick Flood were united in marriage.
Georgia worked over 40 years as a waitress for various Superior restaurants and later worked as a clerk at Superior Shooters Supply.
Some of her memberships included the Hawthorne Trap Club, Superior Trap Club, Big Lake Trap Club, Superior Ladies Ducks Unlimited Chapter and a life member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. Moreover, her trapshooting excellence included several 100 straight scores.
In addition to trapshooting, Georgia enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Triple Crown horse races.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include her husband of over 47 years, Erick Flood, Sr., Superior; daughter, Linda (Richard) Rossi, Oakdale, Minnesota; sons, Erick "Ernie" Flood, Jr., Superior and Edward (Teresa) Flood, Bennett, Wisconsin; grandson, Kellen Tyler Flood, Phoenix, Arizona; and brother-in-law, William Flood, Cumberland, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be from 2 until the 3 p.m. service Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, with Reverend Mark A. Holmes officiating.
Following the service, everyone is invited to The Kitchen, 803 N. 5th Street, Superior, for a luncheon.
